EGB Leicestershire & Rutland Group Social Rides

All rides take place subject to weather and ground conditions and entries may be limited.
We will always try to contact entrants directly if we have to make any significant changes.

Our Group Social Rides are open to all and may be entered on-line or by post via links on this webpage.
Please be aware that your entry will not be processed before payment of the entry fee is received!
Entry fee: EGB Members & Associate Members £10.00, non-members £18.00.

Please ensure that the BACS Reference identifies the rider and add the first three letters of the ride.

Sunday 8 July 2018 Group Social Ride Tugby

Venue: Oxey Farm, Tugby Road, Tilton on the Hill, Leicestershire LE7 9DP.


Situated on the gentle rolling hills of East Leicestershire - a nice introduction to them if you usually ride in flat countryside!
Come and ride in Leicestershire prime hunting country.

There will be a choice of two Social Ride options of approximately
7 miles and 10 miles
(note: the 10 mile route now avoids as many gates as possible).
Ride information and maps will be available to download here shortly before the ride date.
Entry fee: EGB Members and Associate Members £10.00, non-members £18.00.

Saturday 15 September 2018 Group Social Ride The Lion's Tail

Venue: The Old Lion Park, Stapleford Park, nr Melton Mowbray, Rutland LE14 2SF.

The Lion's Tail Ride website
Set in miles of grass headlands and off-road tracks around the Stapleford TROT route.
There will be three Group Social Ride classes of 21kms (15 miles), 17kms (10 miles) and 9kms (5 miles).

Entry fee: EGB Members & Associate Members £10.00, non-members £18.00. There will also be a bib fee of £2.00 payable on the day for use of the TROT route.
The closing date for entries is Wednesday 12 September 2018.

Saturday 15 & Sunday 16 September 2018 National PR & GER The Lion's Tail

Venue: The Old Lion Park, Stapleford Park, nr Melton Mowbray, Rutland LE14 2SF.

The Lion's Tail Ride website
Varied going incorporating private land, toll ride route, bridleways, green lanes, quiet roads and an occasional village.
Some water available on most routes. The route starts and finishes on the Stapleford TROT and uses private land around the Stapleford Estate. There is some roadwork mostly with rideable verges, one stewarded railway crossing on the 30km and 41km routes and a ford on the 41km route. There is an additional charge of £2.00 per day for using the TROT.
Estimated between 2% and 10% of tarmac depending on class. Please note crewing with large vehicles is only possible at certain crew points.

Saturday 6 October 2018 Group Social Ride Charnwood Forest

Venue: Beacon Hill Upper Car Park LE12 8SP


A stunning ride through Beacon Hill, Swithland Woods and Bradgate Park with lovely Bridlepaths, Woods and Fields.

Entry fee: EGB Members & Associate Members £10.00, non-members £18.00. There is also a parking fee - collect ticket and pay on exit.
